How can neighbourhood streets be successfully transformed into places worth living in? This question will be investigated in the project for the two pilot streets Neuer Graben (Dortmund) and Lothringer Straße (Gelsenkirchen). The project builds on the results of LesSON I. The images of the future street designs that have been developed there will be further developed and qualified in this project phase.
The project thus has four central aims:
In order to achieve the aims, planning workshops and temporary interventions will be carried out in order to make the added value of liveable streets tangible. In addition, a financing concept will be developed and scientific and communicative support will be implemented.
The Wuppertal Institute is working on the project together with the Emschergenossenschaft and the urban planning office MUST Städtebau GmbH.
