Competition of German Communities for a Better Zero Emission Mobility

The Federal Ministry for the Environment aims to promote walking and cycling in German municipalities. The project "Zero Emission Mobility" carried out a contest in which four municipalities were chosen for the implementation of an image and information campaign enforcing zero emission mobility. The contest started in December 2008, the campaign was be run in the course of 2009. The Wuppertal Institute organised the two-stage contest for the selection of the winning municipalities on behalf of Velokonzept Saade GmbH and fairkehr GmbH. This included the preparation of the call for tender and the development of evaluation criteria as well as a jury procedure for the selection of municipalities. The jury meetings have been prepared and moderated by the Wuppertal Institute.
