Maike Demandt speaks at the international trade fair for home and contract textiles on the subject of circularity

More than 2,600 international exhibitors will be presenting their products at Heimtextil 2024 from 9 to 12 January 2024. On the first day of the fair from 2 pm, Maike Demandt, Junior Researcher in the Material Loops Research Unit at the Wuppertal Institute, will participate in a panel discussion on sustainability and circularity in the textile sector. Under the title "Circularity. (Still) a buzzword or an approach for new solutions, strategies and products?" the panelists will address terms and business models relating to circularity, cradle-to-cradle, upcycling, recycling and closed loop. They will also discuss the legal frameworks, such as the new EU textile strategy on circular and recyclable textiles and its significance for home textiles.
