The OFF-GRID Expo + Conference is the only neutral congress trade fair in Europe focused on the off-grid solar, wind and hydropower systems sector. On the two conference days, 7 to 8 December, 2023, international representatives of the off-grid community will meet in Augsburg, Germany, to discuss the following topics:
- Utilisation of green hydrogen for off-grid energy access
- Women entrepreneurs and off-grid renewable energy
- Energy storage solutions – providing uninterrupted energy supply
- Technical innovations in the off-gird energy sector with innovative small wind systems
- Integrated solar cooking – opportunities and challenges for cooking with the power of sun in developing countries
- Best practices on productive use of renewable energy
On the second day of the conference, starting at 3:15 pm, Madeleine Raabe, Junior Researcher in the International Energy Transitions Research Unit at the Wuppertal Institute, will give a presentation on "Grid interconnection models for micro-hydro power plants in mountainous regions in Nepal". In her presentation, Raabe refers to a project within the framework of the "WISIONS of Sustainability" initiative, which has been supporting the dissemination of renewable off-grid energy solutions since its foundation in 2004, especially in rural regions of the Global South.
