The Workshop "First Echo" in April 2003 marked the end of the first phase of the project "Which kind of globalisation is sustainable?". After the five working groups of the project had produced fourteen draft papers within one year, these were for the first time presented to external feedback at this workshop. Twelve well-known researchers, activists and policy makers had been invited. The workshop produced critical and detailed comments on the papers. Furthermore, participants offered ideas about the possible design of a book which is expected to result from the project in 2004.
