Günther Einert, Minister for Economic Affairs, Medium-Sized Enterprises and Technology of North Rhine-Westphalia gave the inaugural speech.



In the autumn of 1995, Amory Lovins (left) and Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker presented their book Factor Four - Doubling Wealth, Halving Resource Use (published in English in 1997) with Dr Karl Blessing, head of the publishing house Droemer Knaur.



Peter Hennicke demonstrated the advantages of an energy-saving lamp as an integral part of least-cost planning to a group of visitors from France in 1997.

In 1996, an energy-efficient annex was added to the Institute, increasing the office space available.
