Development potentials of complex low-carbon-energy systems and mobility systems. In this key area low-carbon-transformation pathes will be developed and analysed. Research projects are realized with the goal to generate comparison analysis of long-term and sustainable low-carbon-strategies for the EU, Germany and other Countries (e.g. Czech Republic, Iran, Tunisia, Turkey). Analysis of problems and movement of visions will be carried out on the level of metropolises (e.g. Munich, Düsseldorf or Wuxi, China) as well as on the level of banches (e.g. German Natural Gas Industry).
Primarily there will be analysed, which demands on national, regional or branch-orientated sustainable low-carbon-strategies (climate protection strategies) will be arised. The research group will study the coactivation of different technical and organisational partial strategies in terms of the emergence of sustainable energy- and mobility structures. Thereby, socio ecological implications and demands on the basis of the transformation processes and transformation strategies will be considered. Regarding further development and safety of low-carbon-strategies a strong integration of energy-, climate-, and resource questions will be the major focus. Primarily, this is essential for the integrated low-carbon-city-strategy, which is developed in cooperation with research group 2 and 3 as well as with external partners for the cities Wuxi in China and Düsseldorf in Germany
