By visualising research results with the aid of presentation graphics, book illustrations and exhibition modules, the VisLab has provided graphic support for science transfer ever since the Institute was launched in 1991.
In addition the VisLab is in charge of the entire prepress work (design and layout, typesetting, graphics and imaging) on Institute publications, including in-house series titles such as Wuppertal Special, Wuppertal Report or Wuppertal Bulletin, or books published by publishers.
Since 2008 the VisLab has expanded its output to the production of digital videos. Using the medium of film adds an innovative element that significantly expands the audience reached by the Institute's successful scientific communication work. Much of the Institute's work is concentrated in practice-oriented pilot projects for the business and the education sectors that are intended for broad-based implementation after completion of the pilot phase. Making projects and examples of best practice of this kind available on film will by virtue of its highly graphic nature make an even greater contribution towards spreading ideas and inspiring emulation. |
