The Wuppertal Institute has a fairly slim administration consisting of Project Administration, Accounting and Human Resources Units.
Because of its legal status as a non-profit limited company the Wuppertal Institute is subject to the provisions of the German Commercial Code and prepares accounts in compliance with the regulations for large corporations.
The Project Administration Unit supports researchers in the acquisition of projects and draws up statements and accounts for large third-party-funded projects as well. On average 85 projects are processed each year.
The Wuppertal Institute employs roughly 140 staff members looked after by the Human Resources Unit. The workforce composition is as follows: Around 70 researchers, 40 student assistants and junior research fellows and 30 colleagues in the secretarial offices, the service units and administration. A number of young people are doing internships at the Wuppertal Institute. more

In realising that goal the Wuppertal Institute relies on its ability to translate highly complex scientific concepts into straightforward formulas and images which will speak to a general public. The Wuppertal Institute is proud of its pathbreaking science communication.
To focus our expertise in this area and provide our researchers with efficient services, Public Relations, Visualisation Lab, Library, Internet Desk and EDP collaborate under the umbrella of the Scientific Services Unit. more
