Gluing with protein and starch

Gluing with protein and starch
A sticky business

Environmental soundness is a demand that concerns a product's entire life cycle. New methods of producing label adhesives show how a FACTOR FOUR can be achieved through changes in raw materials, production, packaging and transport.
Environmentally sound label adhesives contain no toxic substances and are used above all in the food and drink industry. The most important raw materials for producing the adhesives, beside water, are casein (milk protein) and starch.
The efficient use of resources in the production process helps save water, energy and raw materials, and also avoids waste. The burden on the environment is reduced, and costs are saved, therefore raising the competitiveness of the business.
